The conclusions of the International Conference European Integration: Realities and Perspectives
On the 20th-21st May 2016, at the “Danubius” University it was conducted one of the most important international scientific events: the International Conference on European Integration. Realities and Perspectives.
This year's edition was also attended by personalities from the international academic world whose valuable scientific studies have been presented in various sections of the Conference (see the program of the Conference): Professor Steve O’ Michael, PhD, Vice-president of the Board of Trustees of Danubius University, President of AGAUC & Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs and Provost, Charles R. The opening ceremony was conducted by the Rector of "Danubius" University, Associate Professor Andy PUŞCĂ, PhD, after the welcoming message to all participants, he has outlined the prerequisites of the scientific debate that followed in the plenary session and in the sections of the event, highlighting the common interest of the academic and scientific world to meet the challenges that the higher education faces at international level, in a competitive environment specific to globalization.
The solemn moment long awaited by the Danubius academic community, i.e. the recognition of the exceptional academic personality, of scientific reputation and prestige, professionalism and high moral status, a human and professional model of the Romanian and international academic community, and to receive in turn by granting the Title of Doctor Honoris Causa, the well-known Professor Gabor HAMZA, PhD - Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest, was officiated by Mr. Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs – Associate Professor Florian NUŢĂ, PhD, the honor of presenting the LAUDATIO was of Mrs. Vice Rector for Teaching Affairs - Associate Professor Monica Florian POCORA, PhD.
On this occasion, Mr. Rector of the “Danubius” University received from Mr. Rector of the Izmail State University for Humanities, Ukraine, Professor Iaroslav KICHUK, PhD, the Certificate of Merit for the important contribution to the development of Ukcrainin-Romanian cooperation in the field of education culture and science. We should mention that the two universities have a strong collaboration, started five years ago under the auspices of the Danubius International Conference Centre, this partnership resulted in another international scientific project: International Conference The Danube - Axis of European Identity.
Thematically relevant in the context of this edition of the International Conference: European Integration. Realities and Perspectives and suitable for any educational system, from anywhere in the world, were the conclusions of Steve O. Michael expressed at the end of his scientific paper sustained in plenary session:
“The prosperity recipe for institutions in a competitive environment of change transcends the institutional adaptability which is critical. It involves relentless pursuit of performance in the market, a market that is not for the weak but for those who are skilled to face the waves of an extremely agitated ocean!”
The conference ended on May 21st, with the traditional Boat trip on the Danube, the participants being thus familiarized with the next scientific event organized by “Danubius” University on June 29th, on the International Day of the Danube: the 6th International Conference The Danube - Axis of European Identity.
