On Monday, May 18, at "Danubius" University of Galati held a double international scientific event: EIRP & AGAUC 2015: the 10th International Conference with the theme of European Integration, Realities and Perspectives (EIRP 2015) - Visit the EIRP’s previous editions: 2014, 2013, 2012, and more, and the 5th International Conference of the Global Advancement of Universities and Colleges (GAUC 2015). Visit AGAUC’s previous editions: 2014, 2013.
"Danubius" University of Galati with its partners, The Association for the Global Advancement of Universities and Colleges (AGAUC), University of Camerino, Italy, Czestochowa University of Technology, Poland were the organizers of this event which brought at the international debate table issues particularly important on successful experiences in the internationalization of higher education, the new trends in this area and the policies and measures adopted by higher education systems worldwide.
The welcome address of the event was performed by Mr. Rector of the University "Danubius", Associate Professor Andy PUŞCĂ, PhD:
“The current edition of the International Conference represents a form though which the Danubius University opens towards the academic and entrepreneurial world, following its international and European vocation.
Welcome to the exchange of scientific information and experiences through which we integrate the academic research in the broad context of the social progress. Granting the title of Doctor Honoris Causa to Professor Shawn Chen, PhD, the President of SIAS University in China, was one of the key moments of the event. The honor of presenting the LAUDATIO returned Mr. Professor Steve O. Michael, PhD - Executive Vice President & Provost Charles Drew University of Medicine & Science; President of AGAUC, USA: “Dr. Chen’s contributions to higher education are remarkable. By providing access and opportunities to thousands of Chinese youths to obtain first class American type of university education, Dr. Chen continues to give a gift that transcends generations and national boundaries. His unassuming, humble, yet unfaltering leadership makes him an exceptionally successful educator and entrepreneur.”
In this edition of the Conference leaders and representatives of universities around the world: USA, China, South Korea, Italy, Poland, Hungary, Germany, Albania, Thailand, Philippines, Republic of Macedonia, Moldova, etc. have attended, which, by scientific research and best practice examples, they materialized the dream of the AGAUC founders to change the world through the education offered by quality higher education.
The keynote speakers of EIRP & AGAUC 2015 were: Steve O. Michael, Executive Vice President & Provost Charles Drew University of Medicine & Science; President of AGAUC, USA; Dr. Zapryagaev Sergey, Chief of Accreditation Project for Association of Classical Universities in Russia, Russia; Dr. Eugenia Karavayeva, Executive director of the Association of Russian Classical Universities, Russia; Dr. George Teodorescu, University Professor, Chairman Danubius Academic Consortium, Head of the Institute for Integral Innovation; Dr. Michael T.C. Hwang, Honorary President, Xi’an Peihua University, Shaanxi, China.
New, topical scientific aspects and approaches were recorded not only in the scientific presentations of the Plenary Session, but also in all the sections of the event: Educating Integral Innovators in a European Academic Network; Internationalization and Global Advancement of Universities and Colleges; Legal and Administrative Sciences in the New Millennium; Performance and Risk in Cross-Border and European Economy; Communication Sciences – Globalization of Cultural Diversity; The Youth of Today - The Generation of the Global Development, special section for students and MA students.
All accepted papers have been published in the conference, EIRP Proceedings, ISSN 2067 - 9211, included in international databases (BDI).
