STEVE O. MICHAEL, VICE-CHAIRMAN OF THE ADMINISTRATION BOARD OF “DANUBIUS” UNIVERSITY, ON A WORKING VISIT TO CHINA

Professor Steve O. Michael, Vice-Chairman of the Administration Board of “Danubius” University and Executive Vice President & Provost Charles Drew University of Medicine & Science President, AGAUC, USA, paid a visit to China in order to continue the tradition of teaching Management and Globalization courses to the students of the Jiangxi Finance and Economics University.

From the schedule of the trip to China it could not miss the meeting with the representatives of the Xi'an International University, the university being the founder-member of the international Association For The Global Advancement of Universities and Colleges (AGAUC), an association which was founded four years ago by powerful universities from Russia (Voronezh State University), USA (Arcadia University, Philadelphia), China (Xi'an University) and Romania (Danubius University).

This association promotes the international cooperation and collaboration between universities and colleges, excellence in education and global research and also the integration into the international community of students. Being designed for an education without boundaries, designed to prepare citizens and world leaders, the AGAUC, through special focus on building partnerships, is presented as a platform which mobilizes the unique strengths of the participating institutions around the globe.

This year, Mr. Professor Shawn Chen, PhD, President of SIAS University of China received within the International Conference AGAUC 2015 the title of Doctor Honoris Causa of the “Danubius” University, the LAUDATIO being presented by Professor Steve O. Michael, PhD - Science PresidentAGAUC: an educator, an entrepreneur, an internationalist, a diplomat, a visionary leader, an interculturalist, a lover of the arts, an indefatigable leader, a humanist, and an ardent believer in the transformative power of education, Dr. CHEN, by providing access and opportunities to thousands of Chinese youths to obtain first class American type of university education, continues to give a gift that transcends generations and national boundaries.

The 2016 Edition of the International Conference AGAUC, a scientific event whose aim is to present the successful experiences in the internationalization of higher education, of the new trends in this area and the policies and measures adopted by the higher education systems in the world, was one of the main topics discussed by the two leaders of higher education, during the visit to Xi'an University in China.
